Get to Know Mardi Gras

When Carnival launched their first ship, 1972's TSS Mardi Gras, they made cruising a lot less stuffy, a bit less fancy, the kind of fun everybody could enjoy. In 2020, a brand-new Mardi Gras® was built and still shouts “fun!” at the top of its lungs. This ship introduced Zones — six themed areas packed with brand-new experiences for eating, drinking and spectacularly getting down to fun. There's BOLT®, the first-ever rollercoaster at sea, Emeril's Bistro 1396 from yes-that-Emeril, Family Feud Live for everybody... plus incredible new bars like The Brass Magnolia and Fortune Teller. Everybody can enjoy Mardi Gras. Come on down!

Check out these stateroom features:

  • Pull-out storage bins and baskets
  • Storage ottoman with a top that transforms into a tray or table
  • Large lighted mirror for multiple people to use at once
  • Multiple USB ports and plugs to accommodate all devices
  • Flexible recessed bedside reading lights that won’t disturb others sleeping in the stateroom
  • New bath design details including a shaving bar in the shower
  • In cabins for 3 and 4 guests, the sofa transforms into a comfortable bed with the quick flip of your wrist

Gratuities (Tips)
It is customary for Carnival guests to extend gratuities to the shipboard staff in appreciation for their hard work and exceptional service. 100% of your gratuities are distributed to the crew who you interact with, such as your stateroom attendants, dining and culinary services staff, as well as other members of the onboard team who work behind the scenes to enhance your overall cruise experience. Applying this charge automatically streamlines the recognition process and ensures the crew will share in your generosity. To help you plan, Carnival has provided the recommended guidelines below.
  • Standard Staterooms: $16.00 per person, per day ($112 per person for 7 nights)
  • Suite Staterooms: $18.00 per person, per day ($126 per person for 7 nights)

You may pay this daily gratuity in two different ways:

Pre-Pay
Gratuities can be added at the time of booking or anytime up to the sail date. Prepaid gratuities are reflected in the 'Miscellaneous Charge' field on the confirmation and in the guest’s E-Documents.

Sail & Sign®
If a guest has not pre-paid the gratuities, the recommended per person amount will be posted to their Sail & Sign account on the second to last day of the cruise.  Should a guest not be satisfied with the service they receive, they can contact the Guest Services desk while on board. This will allow us to address their concerns in a timely and appropriate fashion. At the discretion of the guest, gratuities may be adjusted after they have been posted on the guest’s account, while on board.  Gratuities, as posted on a guest’s Sail and Sign account, will be considered final after a guest disembarks and no changes will be made after the cruise.

Additional information:

  • Gratuities are assessed on all guests, with the exception of children under the age of 2.
  • Gratuities apply regardless of the dining options selected, such as eating at the casual dining restaurant or open seating dining.
  • For beverage purchases, an automatic 18% service charge will be added to the bill.
  • An automatic18% service charge will be added to the cover charge for the Chef’s Table and Bonsai Teppanyaki as well as the nominal à la carte fee at Bonsai Sushi, Emeril’s Bistro, Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse | Brewhouse and Seafood Shack; additional gratuities can be added at the guest's discretion.

Additional Services

I *strongly* recommend arriving in Port Canaveral at least one day prior to sailing to allow for any potential travel delays.

If you are interested in any of the following additional services, please select your choices when registering. Once your cruise is confirmed, we can discuss further.

  • Hotels: pre- and/or post-cruise accommodations - I'm planning on staying at Beachside Hotel & Suites in Cocoa Beach
  • Flights: I can research flights so you can book directly with the airline to have the most flexibility to make decisions on the spot if there are delays or cancellations.
  • Ground Transfers: I can help coordinate ground transportation between the airport, pre- and post-cruise hotels, and Port Canaveral.  GoPort is one of my preferred suppliers for Orlando/Port Canaveral cruise transfers.

Price protection will be subject to the prevailing Taxes, Fees and Port Expenses and/or fuel supplement if applicable. Carnival will honor your request for price protection if the reduction on the total amount paid for your booking results only from a lower cruise fare and not from the booked ancillary services, such as air, transfers, pre-paid gratuities, or Taxes, Fees and Port Expenses. The guest is responsible for increases to ancillary services such as air, resulting from changes to ship and/or sail date, or adjustments to cruise fare. Early Saver price protection does not apply to group rates, membership programs, charters, select promotional fares, travel agent rebates, or other travel agent promotions not offered by Carnival to the general public. When re-pricing to a new promotion, guest assumes all terms and conditions of the new promotion and may forfeit any or all features associated with the original fare, such as cabin assignment, onboard credit, an upgrade, special deposit and payment terms, etc. A $50 change fee per guest will be assessed for ship and/or sail date changes made prior to final payment due date. Remaining funds are nonrefundable/nontransferable and will be held as a future cruise credit (FCC). FCC issued in USD & must be used to book a new cruise within 12 months of cancel date. Guest may select their stateroom. Offer applies to new bookings made between April 2, 2024 and April 6, 2024. Bookings made as part of a group will include their amenities. Offer is applicable on sailings through April 2026 where Early Saver is available. Request rate code OCS. Ships' Registry: Bahamas & Panama.

I will check to see if you are eligible for any refundable or non-refundable promotional rates. Some rates may offer a reduced deposit.

If you need a stateroom for 3-4 guests, we will need to book a different promotional rate (with refundable or non-refundable deposits), and the terms of that promotion will be provided to you.
